We use many natural resources to enhance our environment and encourage a passion for the outdoor environment by using our garden throughout the day.
The preschool children use our local woodland weekly to engage in forest school activities, led by our qualified forest school teacher.
We encourage and celebrate diversity in all its forms. By being a fully inclusive setting, children learn that we are all different and all special. Through books, displays, festivals, themes and group work, we teach acceptance and respect for all.
We also engage in mindfulness and yoga sessions with our trained Yoginis instructors, which helps embed kindness and thoughtfulness into our daily practices.

We are a free flow setting, meaning all staff know and build relationships with all children, but we do also follow the key person approach.
This ensures each child has regular observations and developmental checks completed by someone who knows them extremely well and also has an established relationship with the family.
Parents are respected as partners in the child’s care and learning while at Mulberry Corner and the keyperson is the essential bridge between the two.
Children leave Mulberry Corner with the skills and resilience necessary to continue their educational journey through school and beyond.
With a focus on their personal, social and emotional development and by instilling the values of acceptance and opportunity for all, we believe they can become confident, self-assured, and independent problem solvers – ready to face any challenge of todays ever changing world!

Our baby room opened in 2020 and welcomes up to nine babies to enjoy their day in a warm, comforting and stimulating environment. Our nurturing team go above and beyond to ensure each baby’s individual routine is met and regularly check in with parents to understand any changes in care routines, behaviours, interests and abilities.
Our baby room staff are so welcoming and have a genuine passion for the care of babies. The babies at Mulberry Corner very obviously adore their key person which is so important at this stage of their lives. We allow for a long settling in period, increasing the length of the visits each time, until the babies (and parents!) feel relaxed and comfortable.
Our babies are challenged with exciting activities and we’re not afraid to get messy and use all our senses to explore the world! The garden is used every day and gives babies the opportunity to interact with older children and perhaps their siblings, or indeed use our specific baby garden for a more secure space.
The room is a very flexible space and can be changed and adapted to suit the needs of the different children each day.
The age range for all our rooms is a guide and we aim for fluidity in our transitions. A child will only move onto the next room if we feel they are emotionally and physically ready. As with initial settling in, they have visits with their old and new key persons which will progressively increase.
Our toddler room is based in a lovely bright, open conservatory with free flow access into the large garden. The children can choose from a variety of play zones including home corner, small world, construction, creative, playdough station….the list goes on! Children can make their own choices about what to play with and whether they want to add or remove resources from the area.
Our toddlers can bring the dinosaurs to make foot prints in the playdough or wash the dolls in the water tray! The skilled adults in the room make in the moment observations on their play and enhance their learning experience by offering more challenges or supporting resilience where needed. We also set realistic next steps in their development to ensure they are meeting age-appropriate milestones in all the areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
We also have a separate area which can be used for small groups for activities such as cooking, language groups, and yoga. It can also be used as a more sensory space using dimmed lights, light boxes, bubble tubes, heuristic play or one-to-one interventions. This space is for all age-groups, not just limited to toddlers.

Our large preschool is based over two connected rooms with free access to the garden. Although still play based, the activities provided offer more of a challenge and encourage more critical thought. There are still exciting areas where they have absolute free-choice such as small world, construction and role-play and we enhance these areas with resources based on the children’s interests.
We also add new and interesting items to spark curiosity and use many authentic resources such as old weighing scales, china tea-pots and old-fashioned telephones.
